This is a 3D printed kit that enable a short chassis double din (180mm x 100mm) radio to be installed where the sunglasses holder would sit in a Holden VL Commodore. The complete kit is printed in ASA (similar to ABS but UV resistant). This kit comes two different bezels for the radio holder that allow for a 70mm and 90mm deep radio chassis using the recessed bezel and flat bezel, respectively. To fill the original single DIN radio slot the kit comes with two blanking panels. One is a blank panel that can be drilled for switches and gauges and the other is a two 52mm gauge pod.
The radio is mounted to two side inserts that are screwed into the holder as shown in the photos, or from the back. To securely mount the holder to the center console you can either use double sided tape or use the three mounting locations. The kit includes three oval shaped mounting pads that can be CA glued from to the underside o the console and has a M4 melt in for M4 bolts to fasten the holder down to the console. The forward mounting location has a cap to hide the mounting bolt.
The kits is all raw black ASA you will need to prime and paint the pieces.
If you would like custom radio blank panels, delete the forward mounting location or something else please message me, I am happy to draw up that part and print the piece. This radio holder was made for someone that reached out for his car, he had a different idea for the original radio slot but I have added the blanking panel and gauge pod to make it a more complete kit.
