1987 Holden VL Calais 5.0L Resto-mod

This is my main project it is a genuine 1987 5.0L Holden VL Calais. A bit of background on the car I bought it as a rolling shell, no engine, no transmission, no interior and no glass. Just the bare metal shell, hence the resto-mod as it not going to be a numbers matching car. The goal is to build a nice cruiser that I can hop in and drive across the country.

The plan is to rebuild and upgrade a 5.0l engine from a Holden VT, and make around 250 to 300 kW at the rear wheels. That should get the car into the mid to low 12 seconds for a standing quarter mile. I am planning the rebuild the 4L60e that come with the engine. Currently, I am in the process of remaking the body harness for the car, as the previous owner just cut wires to strip the car. Lucky, I find wiring a little bit therapeutic.

As I make progress on the car I will update the page and add to the tips and trick page too.
