Holden VL High Rise Centre Console

5th Dec 2025 - Complete

The centre console kit is now finished. The kit includes everything in the disassembled photo, plus all the screws and fasteners. The middle section is textured so no need to spray with wrinkle paint, just prime and paint. I do recommend vapor smoothing with acetone to soften the texture. The lid will NOT come trimmed, but the lid is trimmed with 6mm medium foam and velour. In the process of paint.

The kit will be available soon on the website, facebook and eBay.

Currently, all parts are interchangeable, thus an original lid will fit on 3d printed middle section and the lid will fit an original middle section; and the lid striker and catch can be used on the original pieces. This may change.

The middle section is printed in two pieces, for the photos a non-textured piece was used to highlight that it in two pieces. However, the disassembled phot the textured piece is shown. There will be a small parting line.

11th Nov 2025 - First Complete Prototype

UPDATE: The middle section has a textured surface. So no need to paint with wrinkle paint. However, the texture is no a match to the original texture plastic trim. Currently the middle section is PLA, next print will be in ASA and in the process of finalizing the lower latch handle.

4th Nov 2025 - First Complete Buck Prototype

UPDATE: I have completed the first buck prototype of the complete high rise centre console. All parts are interchangeable, thus an original lid will fit on 3d printed middle section and the lid will fit an original middle section. Also the lid striker and catch can be used on the original pieces.

I had someone reach out to design them a high rise centre console for his Executive. I have started modelling the pieces and have completed the first prototype of the lid component (hinge, the two piece lid parts and the locking striker). Sorry, the molded pen holder that are in the original I have deleted. As I progress through the design I will update the page.

Also reach out, as I want to add some features for the middle compartment like wireless charging, AUX power, or USB ports. I want to know what people think.

I have changed some dimensions and fillets features to match the original . this print was for testing the hinge and striker positions and function. The lid is under size to allow for 5-6mm of foam and the velour/vinyl.
